Description
Hristo Nikolov Patrev was a participant in the national liberation movement. He was born in January 1848 in the then village of Shipka. He graduated from primary school in his native village, then resided for some time in Varna as a servant and petty trader. Later he participated in a small troop of khaidushkas that roamed the Ludogorie region. He moved to Romania and in 1868 joined the detachment of Hadji Dimitar and Stefan Karadja.
