Description
The church at the Maiden Monastery of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary was built with Russian donations from the Debar builders and carvers Kozma, Danail, Zachary and Joseph. The church is richly decorated with unique frescoes by three Bulgarian Renaissance masters - Pope Pavel from the town of St. Nicholas. The church was built in the 18th century, by two masters - Paul Paul from Shipka, Georgi Danchov - Zografina from Chirpan and Petyo Ganin from Kazanlak.
