Description
The temple was officially opened on 28.09.1902. It was built in memory of the Russian soldiers and Bulgarian fighters who died in the August battles in 1877. The idea of building a monument-temple arose after the signing of the Treaty of San Stefano. Construction was carried out from 1885 until 1902, when the temple was solemnly consecrated. The sanctuary is a beautiful building in the style of Russian churches of the 17th century. Its form is cruciform with a square nave and three apses.
