Description

Koprinka Dam is one of the many beautiful man-made reservoirs in Bulgaria. Its trough is located in the Valley of Roses, 7 km west of the town of Kazanlak. It is 390 m above sea level, its length is about 20 km. The reservoir is surrounded by numerous small and large bays, which attract tourists from the surrounding area and not only. The idea of creating a similar type of water facility along the Tundja River originated at the beginning of the last century - 1923. The calm waters of Koprinka Dam offer wonderful conditions for camping, holiday breaks, water sports, picnics, long walks and sunbathing. For fishing enthusiasts, the reservoir offers a wide variety of fish species. This proves to be one of the best places for catching whitefish during the cold season, with fishermen identifying the best spots for a good catch as the dam and in front of the cliffs on the steep bank.
