Monument to Georgi Dimitrov

A monumental stone figure of Georgi Dimitrov was erected in 1956 near the wall of the Koprinka dam. A reference to research on monumental art in Bulgaria shows that the sculptors of the controversial monument were Dimitar Dinkov, Dimitar Tsonkov and Zlati Denchev. The three are among the most talented students of Ivan Funev. He himself helped them in the preparation of the figure, considered one of the best of the time.
