Description
The monument is a full-length figure of the Russian commander, cast in bronze and placed on a granite capitol. The figure of Gen. Scobelev is the work of the artist Angel Spasov and is the only full-length sculpture of the military commander in the world, which is preserved in the Panorama "Pleven Epic 1877". It is a tribute to the heroism of the Russian soldiers during the Russo-Turkish War of Liberation, which turned 135 in 2013.
